Why We Are Different
The current standard of care for the treatment of people suffering from psychosis assumes an unremitting course of ongoing decline in function. This perspective, all too common among mental health care providers, ignores the experiences of consumers in recovery, and also ignores the growing scientific consensus that expert care can prevent, delay or reverse the course of chronic psychosis. At PREP, we believe in a comprehensive approach that incorporates prevention and early intervention, assertive involvement with friends, family and community members, and a commitment to bringing cutting-edge tools to those who need it the most, irrespective of their ability to pay.
